Dr. Gilbert-Lewis received a Bachelor Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Xavier University in New Orleans, LA and a Medical Degree from UTMB-Galveston. She also received a Master of Public Health Degree from SUNY Downstate Medical center in New York (SUNY), where she received the Chair’s Award for Outstanding Resident in Pathology. She has completed both an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at SUNY and UTMB, along with a cytopathology fellowship at UTMB. Further, Dr. Gilbert-Lewis has teaching experience from SUNY Medical Center where she served as an Instructor and Chief Resident.
