About Us
The goal of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (DPALM) is to combine the traditional values of academic pathology (excellence in service, teaching and research) with innovative approaches to the new challenges of medicine and science. We strive to become a model of excellence in the changing world of medicine.
The department includes 45 full-time clinical and research faculty as well as many joint appointment, part-time, and adjunct faculty. DPALM directs a fully accredited residency training program, is extensively involved in the Medical School curriculum, and plays an active role in the training of graduate students in the affiliated University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS).
